Hypnotism - Can It Cure Your Disorder?
When a practitioner guides a subject into a meditative state of hypnosis this practice is called hypnotism and the practitioner is usually called a hypnotherapist. People have been eager to explorer this fascinating practice for many many years.
For some hypnotherapists, the goal of hypnotism is to move the patients mind into a state of meditation that allows them to more easily accept treatment for an underlying disorder. Only once the patient is in this state of hypnotized meditation cans one people receive the correct treatments.
Many people react to hypnosis differently. Surveys suggest that approximately 20% of the population cannot be hypnotized, and that 25% of the population can be hypnotized quite easily. The remainder of the population fall somewhere in between. This proves that whilst it can be a very useful tool, hypnosis might not be useful to everyone, but its difficult to tell who can and can;t be hypnotized until they try it.
In order to explain the process more fully, lets take a look at an example.
One of the more common uses of hypnosis is for patients to help smokers stop smoking, often when other methods they have tried have already failed. To treat this patient in hypnotism the hypnotists will first attempt to place the smoker into the meditative state of hypnosis. Once in this state the hypnotist will ask the smoker to first think about the negative results of their smoking and then later the positive results that would be experienced by the patient giving up smoking. These thoughts are also later verbalized as part of the hypnotism. With the help of the hypnotherapist the smokers perceptions about smoking can be changed to affect a cure that will last even after the hypnotism has finished.
During visits to the hypnotist the patients perceptions are altered towards the goal of there therapy, but its up to the patient to continue with these perceptions after hypnosis has finished to be successfully treated.
Quitting smoking using hypnotism has worked for a large variety of people, many of whom go on to recommend the practice to their friends and family.
hypnotism really could change your life, why let fear stand in your way of changing the way you want to live your life ? Odds are you have tried many other treatment options, none of which have worked, why not give this one a go ?
